Twin dating scan
That'd funny--the NP at the ER suggested that perhaps i had pulled a muscle after it was determined that all was normal with the baby and my blood work.
The pain was definitely where i normally feel round ligament pain, even though the ER NP and my midwife told me it was too early for that. I'd been having round ligmament pain at that point anyway.
I was sick as a dog with my first child and had practically no symptoms with my twins. Thanks again and hope you all have happy healthy pregnancies! But I have to tell you that as soon as I saw that ultrasound with only one sac and baby, I didn't for one second continue to 'kid myself' that I was having twins anyway, even though I had strong early symptoms and had transferred two healthy young embryos from proven donors, so the chances were higher than average.
I believe that in almost every case, if the scan says there is one, there is only one, and so I accepted it gracefully and got on with loving my one baby. Don't want to upset anybody or start anything, but depending on where you live, y'all is a word.
I never had any of these issues with my son so just wondering if dr could have missed a baby? My doctor missed one of my twins on u/s at 12 wks 2 days. Like a pp already said, anything is possible, but it's not really probable.
Also, HCG levels aren't a good indicator for multiples, as different women have a varying range of levels for singletons and multiples.
For instance, my first HCG level was 245 followed by 361 two days later. My friend's first level was 1,000 followed by 18,000 and she has one baby.
A week later at 12 wks I went to a different office for the NT genetic screening and found out it was identical twins. Before the stick evendried I knew this pregnancy was different - maybe twins. (I am 5'9", now 145 lbs, and only gained 23 lbs with eachof my previous pregnancies). When I was pregnant with twins I didn't put on any weight till 16 weeks or so. No one this forum is psychic the only person who can tell you if are prego with twins is your doctor. Obviously every pregnancy is different and didn't expect anyone to predict the future. Just wanted to know if anyone ever had an ultrasound that missed a twin. Time will tell :)Yes, our doctor's office missed Baby B at the 6 and 8 week ultrasound, but then found him on the third ultrasound at 10 weeks. I also have two girls - 3 and 2 years old, so this is not my first time at the"rodeo." I found out I was pregnant at 3 wks. I amshowing like I did when I was 4.5 months pregnant with my girls. Plus, I am SOOOOOO TIRED (not the"normal" first trimester tiredness) I mean “I get 10 hours of sleep anight and still need to take a nap when I get home from work in order toremotely function” TIRED. Even at 12 weeks twins are really small so I don't know the answer to that. Sorry to bug y'all but I was just wondering if anybody has had an ultrasound at 7-8 weeks and only seen one baby only to later realize it was twins?I had hcg levels of 43,000 at 6 weeks and have had MS since like 4 weeks.....have been having cramps on and off the whole time and spotted red for 3 days but dr said all looked good! My doc said that had never happened to her before though so I don't think it's very common. We clearly saw two sacs, two babies, and two heartbeats at 6 weeks.
I just thought I was more likely pregnant with a boy because it was so different than my girls.
